Craving some lip-smacking snacks on a lazy evening? Try this fusion recipe which combines the flavours of Italy and India in one dish. Masala Pasta is basically a twist given to the classic Italian pasta, as this version is made in desi style. Prepared with onion, tomato, garlic and Indian spices, Masala Pasta will satiate your cravings in a jiffy. It is super easy to make and you can either enjoy it as a snack or serve it for dinner. Ingredients of Masala Pasta
- 1 cup pasta penne
- 2 large tomato
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 small onion
- 1 medium capsicum (green pepper)
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mango powder
- salt as required
- 2 tablespoon tomato ketchup
How to make Masala Pasta
Step 1 Boil the pastaAdd 3 cups of water to a pan along with 1 tbsp salt. Add pasta and let it cook for 12-15 minutes. Once your pasta is 90% cooked, drain the water and wash the pasta once by pouring cold water on it. Drain all the excess water and set it aside.
Step 2 Chop the veggiesNow finely chop the garlic cloves. Also, chop onion and capsicum. You can either chop the tomatoes or make a puree using them.
Step 3 Prepare the masalaHeat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a pan. Now add chopped garlic and onion. Saute for a few minutes. Add chopped tomatoes along with some salt. Mix well and let it cook for 5 minutes. Now add turmeric, coriander powder, red chilli powder, dry mango powder and garam masala. Mix well and let the masala cook for 2-4 minutes more.
Step 4 Add pastaAdd the boiled pasta to the masala and coat it well. Lastly, add tomato ketchup and mix everything well. Cook for 2 more minutes and turn off the heat.
Step 5 Ready to be servedOnce cooked, your pasta is ready to be served.
